Reverse Psychology
Earlier, I took my family to Carl’s Jr. for a meal…it was during this trip that we learned that things are not always as they seem.
On our way back from Carl’s Jr, we approached an intersection and saw a car in front of us with it’s “reverse” lights on. My wife and I thought the driver of that car was tripping or something so we gave that car plenty of space. For about five minutes that car sat at the intersection still in “reverse” as it waited for a break in traffic. I was certain that at some point, the driver of that car was going to forget it was in “reverse” and plow right into us. “Why are they sitting in reverse”, I asked. Then, to our relief, the driver of that car put it in “drive” and proceeded away from us. My wife looked at me and asked “what was up with that?”
Okay, so we pulled up to the intersection and in order to see the road ahead we had to pull past the corner of a building that was blocking our view. That’s when we realized we had moved into a lane of oncoming traffic. Cars were coming towards us, rapidly no less, so we had to put our car in “reverse” to avoid an accident.
I know what you’re thinking and yep we did feel pretty silly.
