STORY: This Should Have Been Her Warning

Lynn has been struggling keep up with the number of projects that she has, due to intricate complexities and time consuming issues.  She developed a systemic model for handling her shifting priorities.  One day while working on a project, her boss Hue stops by her desk.  He tells her that she must kickoff an important initiative.  Lynn setups up a meeting, she asks what she considers standard assessment questions however, no one can provide her with clear details…this should have been her warning.

Since that meeting, Lynn has noticed that no one involved with the project is clear on what to do and to make matters worse, there are special requirements that were never addressed.  Lynn was ready to pull her hair out.  She struggled for days just to keep everything on track despite the mounting issues, which seemed to have things spiraling out of control.  She also realized that there was no one at the executive level who actually “owned the project”.  To make matters worse, Hue decided to let her know that if she didn’t get the project completed, the company would lose significant revenue.  Lynn is ready to quit but she knows she cannot.

Can Lynn pull this off even though she has been set up to fail?  Stay tuned.
