The Right To Choose

 A  ”parable” that I wrote:

A man spends most of his life struggling to make ends meet.  He has a wife and couple of kids who depend on him everyday.  His job is very demanding as many of the employees he works often come to him with their work related issues and he always takes the time to help solve them.

Pretty soon, things get crazy in this man’s life and he struggles to keep up with the demands.  His good nature gets abused at his job and making ends meets grows more and more challenging.  One day, the man asked God to make his situation better, to change his life so that he would no longer suffer.  Soon after, the man expected his situation to change but it remained the same. Day-after-day, things only seemed to get worse.

Finally, the man said to God, “Make my situation better because if you don’t, I am going to kill myself.”. When the man’s situation remained the same, he kept his word and killed himself.  After the funeral, the man’s wife asked God, “Why did you let him die,” and God replied, “I gave mankind the freedom to choose, to choose  life or to choose death, your husband chose death when he could have chosen Me.”

Each of us is given the greatest gift any man or woman can ever have, the right to choose, don’t ever waste it.
